The Idea
The Adaptation Exchange was born out of the Handelsblatt Conference “Corporate Climate Adaptation” in October 2025.
In the weeks and months that followed, we developed the Founding Charter together with pioneers from across the climate resilience economy, drawing on feedback from many organisations globally. We are deeply thankful for the trust, thoughtful input and early commitment that have helped shape this initiative from the very beginning.

Our Understanding
Purpose
Climate impacts are already here and intensifying, and they carry real financial risk. Adaptation is where companies are least prepared and where action is most urgent. Most organizations already assess and report climate risk; few turn it into coordinated decisions and investment.
The Adaptation Exchange is the trigger for change, acting as a door opener for corporate climate adaptation, helping companies move from recognizing climate risk to acting on it.
Vision
We work toward a future in which organisations are resilient to a changing climate and able to keep operating with confidence. Resilience is the objective, and adaptation is the means of achieving it.
We see the Adaptation Exchange as the starting point of that journey, and we work toward a functioning adaptation economy in which resilience is widely understood, valued and acted on across markets.

The Adaptation Exchange is a curated, cross-sector platform that connects corporates, financial institutions, insurers, solution providers and experts in one trusted space.
We create a community.Together we develop practical, tested approaches, share what works across organizations and value chains, and build a shared language for climate adaptation. Our focus is moving corporate climate adaptation from awareness to action.
